History
Society for Underprivileged Families was established and founded in 1988 by Mr Md. Zamal Uddin. Moghbazar, Dhaka was the first project site developed to educate children living and working in around the slum region. At this time children in Moghbazar had very little access to education opportunities and due to poverty many children, as young as 7, were sent to work to support their families. Working children were often deprived of their rights, receiving little to no pay, working long hours in hazardous conditions with minimal health care and having no free time to receive an education or enjoy their childhood.
Since establishment SUF have steadily been adapting and expanding projects to accompany community needs. Projects now cover an additional four districts: Mymensingh, Barisal, Gazipur and Netrokona. While SUF's focus is still on achieving child rights and giving children access to education, SUF have broaden programs to also include:
Dhaka Vocational Training
Graduation Ceremony 2010
