The Society for Underprivileged Families
The Bright Girls and Boys Project
Sponsoring a Child
The aim of the Bright Girls and Boys project is to find sponsors for the children who wish to complete their education from grade 6 to grade 12.
Funding is provided by donors on a year to year basis, with no specific ongoing commitment required. The 6500 taka per year that is provided by the sponsor provides the child with school fees, uniforms and books, and allows the child to attend formal school.
Children completing education up to grade 10, 11 or 12 are in a position to get a good government, administrative or teaching job, which will provide enough income to move their whole family out of the slum.
The cost of sponsoring a child is £70 or AU$160 per year. This money goes 100% towards the cost of education with no administration fees either in Bangladesh or the country in which you make the payment.
Payment is easy and can be made by cheque, bank transfer, credit card or paypal.

if you are interested in sponsoring a child or have any questions.
As a child’s sponsor you will receive information about your child’s background and also updates on their educational progress. If you wish to contact your child or the coordinator of the project in Bangladesh you will be able to do so through the Society for Underprivileged Families.
The coordination of the Bright Girls and Boys Program in the UK and Australia is done on a voluntary basis by two returned volunteers from Bangladesh.
